Digital Smartphone Paintings
Anja Ammann paints impulsively. No matter where the young Bernese artist happens to be, whether in a café or on the terrace of a holiday home – the subjects for her works can be found everywhere. Thanks to the digital way of creating on Anja’s smartphone, the painting utensils are always at hand and enable the artist to work unprepared and independent of a studio. This „nomadic“ painting, the moment of spontaneity, is what characterises Anja’s pictures. What unites them is their process of creation and the resulting scenery, which exudes a calm and vitality at the same time, captured in a «hand-painted snapshot».One feels immersed in these images and experiences Anja’s perspective in the moment that she expresses through her smartphone.
